Dance Bosnia
The Club,
Sunshine Rating:
Titova 7, www.theclub.ba
This is one top nightclub’s in Sarajevo. It is situated in central Sarajevo
and about 10-15 minutes walk from the old town Bascarsija. They
play a variety of music, especially international funky house, hip-hop
and pop. It is always busy and a popular hot spot for any one who
is any one in Sarajevo. During one of the famous Sarajevo Film festivals
the rapper Coolio was spotted enjoying the local club scene and this
was one of the clubs he visited. Take a look at the web-sight for more
pictures. In addition there is a very good restaurant here that is not
uncommon for Sarajevo. Food and drink are often mixed and rightfully so!
Bosnians can take all night to eat, dance and SING! Mixing in all their
favourite past-times.
All in all it is full of atmosphere, friendly faces and is usually
FREE TO GET IN!
Boemi Club
Sunshine Rating:
Valtera Perica 16
Just a walking distance from The Club is another great party-fest.
Boemi is based on two floors; the first is a more chilled out bar area
with interesting art work all around including a perfectly painted sky
on the ceiling giving it a certain funky feeling. Down stairs is the hot
and sweaty dance floor usually filled with lots of local and tourist clubbers.
This club will stay open until the last people leave, so take advantage.
Bazeni
Sunshine Rating:
Bentbasa bb, 500 people capacity
For a real traditional night out you have to visit the Bazeni. This
is the way traditional Bosnians like to celebrate and party. It is a big
restaurant, right by Miljacka river that runs right through Sarajevo
and next to the famous outdoor swimming pools. However people do not go
there primarily for the food but for the live music. All the famous Bosnian
singers perform there. As mentioned before it has been long established
for food, drink and dance to be mixed. This is an authentic experience
that will leave you climbing onto your seats, the restaurant tables and
occasionally smashing glasses…..literally!
City Pub
Sunshine Rating:
This is a lovely bar located right next to the old Hotel Evropa (Hotel
Europe), right next to the old town. Full of character and spirit
they play host too many concerts, theatre shows, cabarets and movies.
Never short of originality; the music is varied including Funk, Latin,
Regge, Pop, Jazz, Rock, Hip-Hop and the Blues. They also serve snacks
to keep you going.
